Glock Date Code - Hi, I'm new to forums and Glocks. I just got a g17 gen 2 with an ARR date code that Glock says it doesn't.
Glock serial numbers are usually dated. Glocktalk's unofficial/volunteer database may have had "ARR" between October - November 1993.
Glock Date Code
This is a data database provided by the owner. If you don't find it on your list, look in your document for a small brown two- sleeve envelope. What's the date on this envelope? Not this one? Then please contact GLOCK and ask them. Please report any broken links to me so I can...

Stakhaus data shows a pair of "ARR" prefix serial numbers for the two G17s but no date information was provided.

The letter you see is the serial number prefix and not the date code. Glock "date code" is on an early Glock with barrel proof in Austria. It contains a 3 character date code separate from the serial number which indicates the date of proof. This date code can cause confusion because it represents the process associated with the casks. Glock US records only track when the gun was imported into the US, so the date code and date given by Glock US are usually different.
Lastly, the sequence of date-coded barrels and serial numbers often appears inconsistent. For example the DAxxx G19 has an earlier barrel than the BRxxx G19. Maybe more trivia than you ever wanted to know.

Is there a serial number plate on the frame? If the gun was imported by an individual, the US Glock has no record but can usually be identified by the absence of a serial number plate and otherwise polymer by importer identification. There is an engraved number.
Thanks for all the info, I thought I'd enjoy shooting and not worry about it. There are no other numbers on it. I know it hasn't been shot in at least 25 years, so it's as good as new.
This is an old thread, you may not get a reply, and may revive old threads. Please consider creating a new thread. I am very new to this and am reviewing all the information meant for new gun owners. I've read that if you email with your serial number and ask for the build date of your gun they will let you know. And it's true, I got a very fast response from customer service regarding the specifications of my gun.
Considering time, QA time, and journey time, spending a month or less on the shelf seems pretty short.

I don't remember all mine because I have a group at once. I always find the date on the little envelope that contains the used case.

Mine is a Gen 3 17. I bought it in mid-February 2014 in Los Angeles, CA. He was born on December 5, 2013 in Austria. Considering time, QA time, and journey time, spending a month or less on the shelf seems pretty short. So what do other people born on these dates have in common? Click to expand... What email address did you use to request information?
There are 3 letters on the barrel next to S/N, these 3 letters represent the test date code of the barrel:

Can Anyone Help Me Find The Date Code On My 92fs? (pic For Attention)

My serial number starts with WM and it doesn't match the December 2013 answer for me.
This chart does not exactly match my Austrian build 26. My serial number starts with UT and a test was done in March 2012.
Then I regret having to check the information before posting. Or for what model it works.
Glock G42: A Remarkable Handgun
There may be some confusion, the 3 letters are not part of the S/N they are at the top of the barrel.
No problem. I've seen this chart before and wasn't sure what lines were being covered. I made a mistake, my test date is March 26, 2013, not 2012. I don't have 3 letters in the barrel. All I have is "AT" and a small proof stamp. Does not have a character set like the image above. Have they stopped putting "birthday" letters on new guns?
I am not smart. You have Austrian proof marks. It was not meant for America. The crazy bird logo should also be on your slide, below the extractor. Mine, and almost everyone else's in the United States, have their logo in those places. Even Austrian-made, American-bound. NPv is a bonus.

Thank you much for this! Wondering why I can't figure out my G19 gen 4 until you point out that it's not the serial number but the barrel. Thanks again
Glock 17 Review: Best Full Size 9mm?
NPv stands for Nitro Powder Proof. To achieve this it must be fired at 130% load. All Austrians have this symbol (as far as I know).
US Made doesn't have the mark, instead it has a logo. But you may be right that they won't fire at 130% because that is the law for Austrian pistols.
Edit: @jbehredt, posting this before reading yours. Do you mean not doing an ultrasound overload test?
In typical fashion I do a lot of typing but completely ignore my point. What started the hamster wheel in my head was your Austrian proof. The LOM on your barrel does not appear on non-"your-type" weapons. Whisper nitro, austria, birds ........ my other crosses with the thought
Ameriglo Suppressor Sights For My Glock Date Code?
My Austrian/Smyrna gun has caliber, pentagon point, logo and s/n. A small engraved 10 digit number is also printed on the other side. Long story short, and confusingly, the date code is probably Austrian evidence specific. I will stop now.
Bought 2s way back, wanted to find date. Never fired them, only to protect the house. 17 puxx1 slides are stamped on the MPDC barrel. 40 SW banxx8 CC50 Stamped on the slide with a star, the star is the Columbia County Sheriff's Department.
This is an old thread, you may not get a reply, and may revive old threads. Please consider creating a new thread. Gunbroker Auctions recently recalled this, as well as previous debates about the true production date of the oldest Glock 17 pistols. While I believe that a serial number prefix can have more than one date code, it is not possible to have more than one available alphanumeric prefix for a serial number. For generations, I want to include all Glock models around the world.
Given the wide variety of models and the fact that the scope of this thread is to track serial numbers by date code, model numbers are not required but are recommended.

For clarity, use the following to represent generations: G17.1 for G17 Gen1, G22.4 for G22 Gen4, etc.
